I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday however you may celebrate (or not)! Since this is my last dispatch from 2024, I thought I’d share my plans for what’s coming next year.
Nothing is up for preorder yet, but I’d say that by spring, you can expect the first novel in the Spirit Springs series. Ryleigh (you might remember her from “The Veils Thin”) receives a directive from the King of the High Fae to retrieve a magical orb that’s been lost for over five thousand years. You can imagine her reaction. Who, me? Meanwhile, a group of teenage boys steal a treasure from Edward, the troll, and well … it’s never a good idea to steal from a troll.
The second novel in the Emerald City Paranormal Women’s series is poking at me. Yesterday I finally gave into the phrases that have been running through my head for a few weeks and rewrote the beginning of that one. This one stars Dana, who had hoped to be done seeing ghosts. You can guess how that is going to work out. It should be available toward the end of next year. Fingers crossed.
What’s up for you in the coming year?
Last year brought you the first novel of the Emerald City series, Murder, Mystics & Menopause, and the short story “The Antique Shop.” I also published “Well of the Maiden,” a short story set at Imbolc in the Spirit Springs series.
On a personal note, I lost a former partner in late September from cancer. A shock really. I thought she would recover and she seemed well on her way the last time I saw her in mid-September. But her symptoms returned and she packed up and left us. On to what comes next.
I’m about a week out from a hip replacement and doing great. It’s time like these we yearn for Star Trek medicine. I mean, can’t they just beam the new hip in? My nurse gave me the side-eye. They sent me home the same day – I could hardly believe it – and Stephen and Cleo (see below) have been taking wonderful care of me. The quiet of solstice helped me settle in and heal. Meditate. Think about my life.
Did you have a chance to take some quiet time during the solstice? Or were you in the full sun’s blaze in the Southern Hemisphere?
New Year’s Eve is approaching and you can celebrate it with Anne and Michael from the Power Places series with the story “Cup o’Kindness.” Happy New Year! Buy for less in my store or click a book image or here to buy on Amazon.
